Apr\u00e8s plus d’une d\u00e9c\u00e9nie d’ordinateurs anim\u00e9s par des processeur X86 (comme sur les PC), Apple change de strat\u00e9gie et vient de sortir les nouveaux Macbook et Mac Mini sous processeur M1, processeur Apple bas\u00e9 sur l’architecture ARM.
Toute la gamme n’est pas encore concern\u00e9e puisque les Macbook Pro 16 pouces, les Imac et Imac pro demeurent au catalogue avec un processeur Intel.
A priori ceci pourrait perdurer car les processeurs M1 ne seraient pas capables de g\u00e9rer plus de 16Go de RAM, et plus de 2 p\u00e9riph\u00e9riques thunderbolt. Cette limite n’est pas dramatique pour les utilisateurs d’un Macbook Air, mais est une s\u00e9rieuse contrainte pour les utilisateurs plus exigeants, int\u00e9ress\u00e9s par des machines davantage orient\u00e9es \u00ab\u00a0performance\u00a0\u00bb. Ceci devra \u00eatre corrig\u00e9 sur la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de processeurs pour que cette nouvelle plateforme puisse avoir un avenir.
Mais ce nouveau n\u00e9 n’est pas d\u00e9nu\u00e9 d’atouts. Le M1 chauffe peu et peu ainsi fonctionner sans ventilateur. Si Apple avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 tent\u00e9 l’exp\u00e9rience du refroidissement passif sur le Macbook 12 pouces, la machine devait r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00eatre sous cadenc\u00e9e pour fonctionner \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature raisonnable. Le r\u00e9sultat \u00e9tait certes silencieux mais insuffisant en performances sur la dur\u00e9e. Le processeur M1 permet un refroidissement passif sans limiter les performances. Les performances sont d’ailleurs impressionnantes, pour peu qu’on utilise des applications Apple, qui g\u00e8rent le processeur en mode natif. Pour les applications X86, c’est Rosetta qui se charge de faire l’\u00e9mulation. Les performances y sont comparativement en retrait, mais tout \u00e0 fait satisfaisantes. Le processeur chauffant moins, il consomme moins et permet ainsi d’atteindre une autonomie exceptionnelle avec plusieurs heures gagn\u00e9es par cycle de batterie.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
